Coastlines with character, especially those with a rocky or craggy perspective are ideal to generate mood, atmosphere and detail. This is the case for the famous Bow Fiddle Rock, at the little seaside village of Portknockie, Moray, Scotland, UK. The Bow Fiddle Rock is a natural sea arch on the eastern coast of Scotland. It is so called because it resembles the tip of a fiddle bow. It is composed of Quartzite, a metamorphic rock which was originally quartz sandstone. This rock is part of the Cullen Quartzite formation which is seen along the coast between the towns of Buckie and Cullen. The whole coastline contains eye-catchy rocky formations interspersed with soft, sandy, bays. In this section I have used black and white conversion to add to the atmosphere of this magnificent natural arch.
